This is a 4-wire lambda probe that produces a signal ouptut of 0 to 1 volt.
The boss should be welded into the exhaust pipe as close as is reasonably possible to the manifold.

A closed-loop system continuously monitors the exhaust gases to determine if the mixture is too weak or too rich, and then adjusts the mixture to compensate for varying loads and driving styles. This type of system gives better performance/economy than an open-loop system.
This upgrade kit contains all of the components needed to convert an open-loop, single-point induction system to a closed-loop system, i.e. lambda probe, boss (to weld into the exhaust system), lambda control unit, loom and stepper motor valve.
The lambda control unit is tuned using the integral lights that show when the mixture is weak or rich (so you don't need a laptop PC).

The Eco-Vac can be installed into any single-point induction system (i.e. any carburetted engine or any injected engine with or without a catalytic converter) as part of the original installation or at a later date.
It will automatically adjust the volume of gas fed to your engine to give you just what you need. It uses the inlet manifold pressure to judge the demand for gas, and adjusts the power valve accordingly.

So, if you are looking to refine an existing installation, and don't want to get involved with electronic mixture control (Lambda) systems, this could be your answer.
