If you opt for a toroidal tank and decide to do without your spare wheel, this could be just what you need to give you peace of mind. If you get a puncture, remove the cause of the puncture, squirt in the sealant and adjust the pressure with the electric pump

The pump operates from a 12 volt cigar lighter, has a 10-foot lead, 2 nozzle adapters, sports needle, pressure gauge and is rated at 250 psi/18 bar.

Cylinder tank

Cylinder tank

This is a single-hole, cylinder tank, and is the default type of tank supplied with the kits.
It must be mounted horizontally, with the valves at the correct angle (normally 30 degrees up from horizontal).

All tanks must be securely mounted, using spreader plates, to withstand 20g in the direction of travel and 8g laterally.

Cylinder tanks are usually fitted using a tank frame and straps, or brackets. Any suspended tank must have at least 3 straps or brackets.

Toroidal tank

Toroidal tank

This is a single-hole, toroidal tank.
The tank has a hole through the centre and is sometimes called a donut tank.
It is designed to be mounted in a spare-wheel well, but is not suitable for plastic wells.
It must be mounted horizontally and is secured by bolts through the central hole.
The multivalve is mounted in the central hole, just beneath the cover.


All tanks must be securely mounted, using spreader plates, to withstand 20g in the direction of travel and 8g laterally.

Full toroidal tank

Full toroidal tank

This is a single-hole, full toroidal tank.
It is similar to the toroidal tank, but has the centre filled in to give greater fuel capacity.
Full toroidal tanks are often mounted underneath vehicles, in place of a spare wheel, but may be mounted inside.
It must be mounted horizontally, and is secured using the lugs on the top/bottom of the tank.
The multivalve is mounted in the outside, lower edge of the tank.

All tanks must be securely mounted, using spreader plates, to withstand 20g in the direction of travel and 8g laterally.

Tanks may be supplied with mounting lugs at the top and bottom or just with top lugs.
Some tanks have 4 lugs and others have 5.

Vertical Toroidal Tank

Vertical Toroidal Tank

This is a single-hole, vertical toroidal tank.
It must be mounted vertically, and is secured using the articulated bolts at the base of the tank.
The multivalve is mounted in the central hole, just behind the cover.
The picture shows the tank and securing bolts. Also included in the tank price are:
Multivalve,
Vent hose and bulkhead fittings (required if the tank is mounted inside the vehicle)
LPG level sender.
